What to sell

Quality single British and Commonwealth coins, collections of mixed numismatic material, gold coins in bulk (especially sovereigns).

Suitable items

Send a list of items to We will advise you on which auction would be most suitable for selling your property. Please note that we focus on British and Commonwealth gold coins of numismatic interest/value.

Auction deadline

Once items have been agreed, they must arrive The Coin Cabinet office at least three weeks before the proposed auction date. If you miss the deadline, items may be consigned to the following auction.


The vendor commission fee is 10%, reduced to 9% if items have been slabbed (authenticated and graded with either the NGC or PCGS and have a picture on the certification page).

Starting prices

All coins are priced at 10% below their bullion value, regardless of valuation. There are strictly no reserves. By agreement, we can guarantee a minimum amount for very rare items (if guaranteed items end up selling below the guarantee, The Coin Cabinet will reimburse the difference).


Payment will take place after 30 days, assuming all items consigned have been paid in full. Settlement will be in British Pounds Sterling by bank transfer, processed on the last bank day of the week.
